Old and new builds
Mermaid Beach is one street off the water for most of its length, and the buildings show it.
An original low-set brick place and a new three-level rebuild sit side by side on the same street, so a quote here is per-house rather than per-suburb — the house next door tells you almost nothing.
Salt and render
Anything east of the Gold Coast Highway wears salt: window frames, garage doors, the render on the newer builds, and the strip of concrete down the side where nothing ever dries out.
Side access and drains
The blocks are narrow, side access is often a metre and a bit between fence and wall, and the driveways are short and steep down to the kerb.
Run-off heads for the kerb and the kerb heads for the beach, so drain protection goes down before anything is turned on.
Beachfront parking
Off-street parking is scarce on the beachfront streets, so where the ute sits is sorted at the quote instead of blocking a neighbour on the day.
How we work
- We photograph the whole job before we start, damage included. You get the full set either way.
- Drains protected, plants covered, biodegradable products. What we lift is kept out of the stormwater drains.
- Walls are washed from the ground.
- Fibro and asbestos cement — fibro cladding, a Super Six roof, eaves, a pre-1990 fence — identified on the walk-around, left as found and documented in writing.
- We clean. Coatings, sealing and restoration are left to the trade that holds the QBCC licence for that work.
